The Treasury Audioguide

Traditional audio guide handsets are available to hire for small fee from the museum shop in the main rotunda but if you have a MP3 player or smartphone, you can download the guide for free.

The Treasury - Celtic and Early Christian Ireland audio-guide is the first dedicated audio guide at the National Museum and is available in an MP3-Album format, available to download for free below.

The content

There are approximately 30 tracks which were scripted by specialist curators from the National Museum and are available in 6 languages (English, Irish, French, German, Spanish, and Italian). They provide insightful descriptions of artefacts as well as interesting associated facts. 

Once downloaded, the tracks can be played on an iPhone, iPod, Android phone or MP3 player as an album. Listen to a sample here:

In-gallery audio streaming

For visitors who have a smartphone or tablet but have not downloaded the album prior to their visit, they will be able to connect to a local Wifi network streaming each of the tracks, details will be available from reception.

Audioguides from the shop

For visitors who do not have a smartphone or who require a physical keypad for accessibility purposes, a physical audio-guide will also be available in limited quantity and for a small fee through our Museum shop, the fee is redeemable against a product in the shop.
