Curriculum-linked activities and resources at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life

Winners of the Sandford Award for Heritage Education 2014

The Heritage Education Trust independently assesses museums and heritage sites across Britain and Ireland and has recognised the National Museum of Ireland - Country life for the high quality of its learning programmes.

The National Museum of Ireland – Country Life offers learning programmes that continue to be very well developed and delivered in a sensitive way by a knowledgeable and talented team.  Schools will benefit from a visit, as the story covers the history of life in rural Ireland from Victorian times.  It is a living history that educates and entertains.  Gareth Fitzpatrick, Sandford Award Judge.
Exhibitions are housed in an award-winning building set in the grounds of Turlough Park House. Give your students an ‘out of classroom’ experience with a difference, as they journey back in time and discover what life was like in rural Ireland from the 1850s to the 1950s.
