Workshop Events and Online Mentoring Clinic


There will also be an opportunity for the wider public to participate in two one- off writing workshops with Dermot Bolger.

These two public writing workshops will take place in July 2016.

The Mayo event will take place Saturday 23July time TBC at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life.

Each workshop will consist of a talk about the process of writing by Dermot Bolger, followed by an extensive question-and-answer session with the audience. This session will delve into every aspect of the practice and the business of writing, across all the mediums which Bolger is involved in. Events are free, unless otherwise stated but booking is essential.

In addition, a limited number of writers from across the country will have access to an online mentoring clinic. Writers wanting to submit work for the online mentoring clinic are involved to submit a sample of not more than four poems or a fiction extract of not more than 2,000 words to dbolger@museum.ie  between 1st of March 2016 and March 28th 2016. The Writer in Residence will only be able to actively engage with a very limited number of selected writers but will endeavor to reply to as many writers as possible who submit material.
