Read how your language school group can get the most from a visit to Collins Barracks
Please Note: Guided and self-guided group visits to the new exhibition Proclaiming a Republic: The 1916 Rising are now booked up to June 2016. If you wish to explore 1916 at the Museum, you could visit Soldiers and Chiefs, Asgard and Recovered Voices: The Stories of Irish at War, 1914-1915.
We hope your students enjoy their visit to the Museum. The following guidelines are in place:
To arrange a guided tour please book at least two weeks in advance with the Bookings Office. All tours and activities are subject to availability, group size and level of language.
Please consider doing pre-visit preparation in class to help students understand what they are seeing or alternatively check our website www.museum.ie.
Students must be supervised by a minimum ratio of 15 students to 1 member of staff. Staff must accompany their group at all times to ensure students behave in a suitable manner.
Respect for the Museum
Like all groups, language school students are expected to behave in a courteous and respectful way to the museum staff and other visitors:
No running in the galleries
No eating in the galleries
Littering is prohibited anywhere on the Museum site
Respect other tours/ inpiduals in the gallery spaces
The activity area is our dedicated space for families only
Failure to comply with the above may result in our inability to accept bookings from your organisation in the future. Please bring this to the attention of all staff and students.
