Plan your visit in five easy steps

Pupils raise their hands to answer a facilitator's question

Get the most from your school visit to the Museum. Plan your visit in five easy steps, and remember, school visits are free!

Please note that due to limited capacity at NMI - Natural History, only one school group can be accomodated at a time, and booking is essential.

1. Look at our list of tours and workshops

The museum offers a range of tours and workshops which schools can avail of throughout the school terms. Look at the list of tours and workshops available and choose one that is suited to your class' age group and interests. Alternately book a self-guided visit, for which activity sheets can be provided on request, to use during your visit.

2. Enquire about your preferred dates and times

It is best to book your visit to the Museum at least two weeks in advance. Book early and you are more likely to get the dates and times you want.

3. Contact the Bookings Office

It is essential that all groups book via the Bookings Office. To make an enquiry, please complete this enquiry form. If you have any further queries about the Education Department's resources, please get in touch via email bookings@museum.ie.
We will process your booking request and send you a confirmation.

4. Get prepared

Get the most from the Museum with a little pre-visit preparation. You could also plan some follow-up project work back in school.

5. Come on time

Due to the reduced capacity, group visits are strictly of 45 minutes duration. Please arrive promptly for your booked time, as it is not possible to remain beyond your booked time slot. Have fun, learn and be inspired. And don't forget your ticket!
