This collection contains a wide range of objects typically used in the construction of the traditional Irish house.
Included are house building materials, door furniture, water pipes, and samples of thatch such as bobbins, scallops and ropes.
There is also an important collection of architectural survey drawings, which illustrate the different styles of Irish traditional houses. This was completed in the 1930s and 1940s by the Swedish Folk Culture Mission and the School of Architecture, UCD.
