The main centres at third level are the Delargy Centre for Irish Folklore, University College, Dublin and the Department of Folklore and Ethnology, University College, Cork.
- Does the National Museum of Ireland still collect Folklife Objects?
The Museum still collects such objects but less so than in the past. Material is now mainly collected to fill a particular gap or for exhibition purposes. An increasing area of collection is that of early consumer goods reflecting popular life and change.
