This exhibition of craft works by children who have participated in the Crafts Council of Ireland’s CRAFTed Learning Skills for Life Primary Schools programme is on display from Tuesday, 19th November - Tuesday 3rd December 2013 in the Riding School gallery space.

The exhibition is organised by the Crafts Council of Ireland in partnership with the National Museum of Ireland and the Teachers’ Education Centres in Ireland.

The work on display is a selection of craft pieces made by children taking part in CRAFTed projects throughout the country using materials such as wood, clay, plaster, paper and glass.

The CRAFTed programme is grounded in the development of good collaborative practice between craft practitioners and teachers and a cross-curricular approach to learning, with an emphasis on numeracy and literacy skills as well as the Visual Arts and Social, Environmental and Scientific (SESE) curriculum.

There are 19 craft pieces on display to represent the creativity, imagination and hard work of approximately 2,511 children who worked with 81 trained crafts people and 135 teachers from 93 schools nationwide.

Schools wishing to visit the exhibition must book their visit in advance.
