Tours, Floor Plans, & Guidebook
The Museum runs tours looking at Prehistoric and Viking Ireland, as well as talks for adults with expert speakers, and workshops for young children.
- Public Tours and Adult Gallery Talks are run subject to availability. Please check the Calendar of Events for times and costs.
- Family Tours and My Museum Workshops give families with young children a chance to handle objects and experience the Museum in a unique and exciting way. Please check the Calendar of Events for times and costs.
- Group Tours and Education Programmes can be arranged through the Education & Outreach Department at +353 1 6486453. At least two weeks notice is required when requesting tours.
- Currently we are unable to provide guided Tours for Language Schools, so all visits are self-directed. Advance notice of your visit should still be given so that the Museum can accommodate your group size. More information on Language School Group Visits.
The main benefit of a self-directed visit is that you can take in the Museum's collections at your own pace and focus on the areas that are of a particular interest to you. Don't forget, however, that our knowledgeable attendants and staff are on hand to assist you with any questions you may have.
To help plan your visit:
For a quick overview of the exhibitions, pick up a floor plan when you are at the Museum, or download it here:
The Archaeology Guidebook (pictured left) is available from the Museum shop.
It is a beautiful collection of illustration, images and in-depth information about the exhibitions.
Download a guidebook or a floor plan. They're available in multiple languages.
