Collection Artefacts – Object Database Sample
The artefact database sample is presented here to provide an insight into the range of objects held by the Museum in its collections.
We hope you enjoy the digital access to objects, some of which are not on display in the Museum’s public exhibition spaces.
In the future, we intend to increase the number and type of objects presented here and the level of detail in their descriptions.
In the selection, you will find photographs and also rendered 3D images. These 3D models and rendered Images originated from a cultural heritage digitisation project in 2003/2004 lead by the Library Council of Ireland. The scanning equipment and technology was provided by Kestrel 3D Ltd. in their Belfast Scanning Centre at the Northern Ireland Technology Centre in Queen’s University. Some of them are displayed in the Virtual Museum of "Ask About Ireland".
Please use our Artefact Search form to search the database sample for particular items.
