Luisne Art Project
Luisne Art Project is a highly successful, nationally recognised arts programme for people with disabilities, based in the Ballinrobe area. This partnership project, which was initiated in 2005, is supported by Mayo County Council and Western Care with administrative support provided by TACU, Ballinrobe Family Resource Centre.
This programme has become a model of best practice and the quality of the work produced is excellent. Thus the group have achieved many high profile exhibitions – in The Linen Hall Arts centre, Castlebar, University Hospital Galway and Custom House Studios, Westport.
A new and exciting exhibition Encounter is now open in the Museum Café. This exhibition of work features art produced during joint workshops between Luisne Art Project and The Carrowbeg Centre in Westport. The exhibition will run in the Museum Café until 7th July 2013.
Following this exhibition Luisne Art Project have been invited to participate in the upcoming EU Residency Local Partnership event by KCAT in Kilkenny in June, where they will work alongside colleagues from Cork, Kilkenny and International Disability Arts Groups.
