Ardagh Chalice

The objective of the general tour is to provide an introduction to the collections within the museum. The tour allows for interaction with the artefacts, exploring our past through discovery and investigation of these objects.

The tour delves into artefacts and aspects of Prehistoric Ireland, Ireland’s Gold and the Treasury Collection, and includes relevent artefacts such as the Broighter Hoard, the Ardagh Chalice (pictured above) and the Tara Brooch.

Maximum: 30 per group. Duration: approx. 45 minutes.

Specialised Tours

Specialised tours can be focused on specific aspects of the collections. Examples of these including aspects of the Stone Age, Bronze Age or tours of a more general theme such as the archaeology of a specific county. These tours can be tailored to meet the educational needs of the group and can suit a range of ages.
