When to Visit?
September to April: Tours, workshops & demonstrations
May & June: Tours only
All activities are subject to availability.
Maximum Group Size for Activities:
- Infant classes: 10 max
- Primary (1st – 6th class): 15 max
- Post Primary junior cycle & transition year: 15 max
- Post Primary senior cycle: 25 max
- Visitors with special needs: 10 max plus carers
You will need to book more than one activity for larger groups.
Preparation
Visit beforehand to see the exhibitions, plan activities and collect worksheets.
Do It Yourself
Enjoy the museum without booking a tour or activity. This allows you to choose a time and date that suits you.
We DO need to know you’re coming. Make a booking
and we will help you organise your trip.

Supervision
Adults in charge must remain with their group at all times while in the Museum buildings and on the grounds and are responsible for the group’s behaviour and safety.

Security
We have cloakroom facilities. We ask children to bring as little baggage as possible with them. Purses and other valuables should not be left in the cloakroom.
- Please advise your group not to touch exhibits.
- Mobile phones are not permitted.
- Flash photography & video recording are not permitted
Access
All buildings are fully accessible. Wheelchairs are available.
We cater for visitors with hearing difficulties and visual impairments.

There are picnic tables in the gardens.

Free supervised coach parking.
If your group is travelling by bus, please warn the driver that the entrance gate is very narrow and caution is needed.
