This exhibition explores the stories of 19th century young female Irish emigrants alongside those of eight women who have recently immigrated to Mayo. Every migrant journey is unique, yet there are shared experiences of isolation and loneliness but also of adaptation and adventure.

The On Sight Trail around the grounds of Turlough Park, will run until September 2015. The theme is ’Welcome to the Stranger: Migrant People, Places and Spaces’. On Sight is a collaboration between the Museum of Country Life, Mayo County Council Arts Office, Mayo Arts Squad and independent artists. Louisa Moore: A Life in Letters Fiona White, GMIT presents the life of Louisa Moore of Moore Hall.
