It’s back to school in September and at the Activity Area we’re exploring uniforms in the Museum. From soldiers’ and nurses’ uniforms to patriotic costumes - or clothes for important occasions such as getting married or mourning, discover what messages uniforms can convey. Have a go at designing your own original uniform for school, work or play! Drop-in activity, no booking required.

Join Dr. Chris Wingfield, curator at the Archaeology and Anthropology Museum, Cambridge University, for a special lecture on the display of stone artefacts in Museums and the role of stone in society. This lecture is the key note address of ’The Cultures of Stone 2014 Conference’, jointly organised by UCD School of Archaeology and UCD School of Classics with the support of the National Museum of Ireland.
