The National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts & History is recruiting new members to our Panel of Freelance Guides


The National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts & History is recruiting new members to our Panel of Freelance Guides to provide guided tours of the Museum’s exhibitions to schools, family and adult audiences.  We’re looking for applications from enthusiastic people with a passion for history and the decorative arts.

Interested applicants should have:

·       Excellent communication skills and be comfortable speaking to groups

·       Experience in working in the cultural sector

·       A demonstrable and sound knowledge of Irish History and/ or Art & Design History

·       Guiding and / or teaching experience and experience of working with different audiences, ie young people.

·       Good research, study and planning skills

·       Knowledge and understanding of Ireland’s cultural, heritage and educational sectors

·       Good team working skills

Applicants will need to undergo Garda Vetting in line with the Museum’s Child Protection Policy and statutory regulations.
