Metalwork

Pair of candlesticks, Dublin, 1685-87; mark IS for either John Segar or John Shelley

Irish silver is the most significant element of this collection and ranges in date from 1500 to the present.

The entire silver collection is accessible, either in the exhibition entitled Irish Silver or in What's In Store?

The collection is strongest for the period 1750 – 1800 but there is also a small but growing body of contemporary Irish silver. There are also collections of pewter, enamel, brass and ironwork.
