Transport Collection

Carriages on display from 1899 to 1929 at NMI - Archaeology. The Lord Chancellor of Ireland's coach (right) was manufactured by Philip Godsall of London and imported to Ireland in 1790

This collection consists of 18th and 19th Century carriages as well as material (schedules, models, photographs, drawings) related to 19th Century railways.

The transport collection complements the carriages collected by the Folklife division, focusing on the carriages owned by the landed gentry.
