Workshops and Tours for Schools

For the academic term of September to December 2018, Primary School pupils can join in art workshops using the Museum’s ‘Giant Ardagh Chalices’, or join a storytelling workshops inspired by the stories of those who made, buried and rediscovered the chalice. Storytelling workshops are also available in Irish. For our Post-Primary pupils we have a range of tours, including our ‘Highlights Tour’ and our ‘Leaving Cert Art History Tour’ that explore Early Medieval Ireland and the Ardagh Chalice.


Primary School Workshops

For the academic term September to December 2018, primary school pupils can join in art workshops using the Museum’s ‘Giant Ardagh Chalices’, or join a storytelling workshops inspired by the stories of those who made, buried and rediscovered the chalice. Primary School Activity Sheet Trail -The Treasury Trail

Teachers can also explore the Museum with an activity booklet which explores the artefacts in the The Treasury – Celtic and Early Christian Ireland exhibition including the Ardagh Chalice and ‘Tara’ Brooch. Also available in Irish.


Post-Primary Workshops and Tours

Transition year students can join a number of workshops, inspired by the stories of those who made, buried and rediscovered the chalice.  A regular programme of art history tours for Leaving Cert students will be held during the academic term September to December 2018.
