Bealtaine Festival 2019: Ode to the Dead Zoo

Thursday 30th May, 10:00am - 1:00pm/ Audience: Adults

Drop into a poetry morning upstairs in the Reading Area at the Dead Zoo and get inspiration from a Victorian collection of taxidermy, skeletons and fossils. Create a phrase and contribute to a group poem curated by Poet, Seán Hewitt.

During this drop-in activity, explore the galleries to find your favourite animal and imagine it back to life through a short poetry session. Meet with Museum Educators and get up close to some of the treasured specimens from the handling collection, including real fossils, fur and feathers.

The Education & Outreach Department at the Museum of Natural History are delighted to work with Poet, Seán Hewitt. Seán is a Leverhulme Research Fellow at the School of English at Trinity College Dublin. For more information about his work please visit his website here.
