Culture Night 2017: World Rhino Day, 5:30pm-8:00pm

Friday 22nd September 2017 is World Rhino Day and to celebrate we will have some very special guests at the Dead Zoo to highlight the importance of the 5 remaining endangered species of rhinoceros left in the wild today; the white rhino, black rhino, Indian rhino, Sumatran rhino and Javan rhino.

The night will kick off early with artist Duffy Mooney Sheppard. Drop into the Discovery Zone from 5:30pm -7:30pm to meet Duffy and create your very own colourful rhino crown!

From 6:30pm -8pm climb upstairs to the Mammals of the World Exhibition to meet zookeepers, Brendan Walsh and Ken Mackey from Dublin Zoo and our very own Museum Conservator, Nieves Fernandez, to discover how she created the perfect replica plastic horns for our black rhino on display.
