Jurassic Skies Open Day at Collins Barracks

Sunday 17th February 2019. 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Start the mid-term madness with a trip to the Museum at Collins Barracks and learn more about when dinosaurs took to the air! On the day visit the temporary exhibition, Jurassic Skies, and join an array of free fun and educational events. Including....

  • Dinosaur Doodles and storytelling with award-winning author and illustrator Niamh Sharkey
    3:00-4:00pm. Located in the Palatine Room.
     
  • Make your own fossil with the Geological Survey of Ireland
    1:00pm-4:00pm. Drop-in activity in Clarke Square.
     
  • Touch real feathers and bones with bird expert, Jamie Durrant, and learn all about flight
    1:00pm-4:00pm. Drop-in activity at Museum Reception.
     
  • Create your own wings during a Flight Art workshop with Museum Educator, Aisling Dunne
    2:00-3:30pm. Drop-in workshop in the Education Learning Resource Room.
     
  • Visit the Hands-On-Fossils table to touch real dinosaur fossils from the handling collection and to chat with the Curators, Matthew Parkes and Paolo Viscardi, and Geologist, Emma Morris.
    1:00pm-4:00pm. Drop-in activity in the Ante Room beside Brambles Cáfe.
