Key Information and Updates

Key Information and Updates for the NMI Schools Programme

To arrange Education and Community group bookings you must contact the Bookings Office at
Please see here for important information on Group Visits.

Resources for the Classroom

You can explore the Museum virtually, as well as engage with the National Collections, through our website. We have created a programme of online activities and resources for teachers, which are curriculum-linked and designed to complement classroom learning, whilst also being engaging and enjoyable. A variety of themes and topics are explored, for both Primary and Post-Primary students, on the Schools and Teachers page of each Museum site. These resources will be updated throughout the term and we would advise visiting these webpages regularly.

Please find a link to the Primary level resources at the NMI - Archaeology here and the Post-Primary level resources here

Online Virtual Sessions

You and your Primary School Students can join Museum educators for a live online virtual session all about the Vikings in Ireland, broadcast direct to your classroom. Museum Educators will share videos and use objects from the Museum’s handling collection to shed light on this fascinating period in Irish history. You can find out more about these virtual sessions here.

You can also contact the Bookings Office at if you have any further queries about any of the Education Department’s online resources.
