Key Information and Updates for the NMI Schools Programme
While Covid-19 remains a public health issue, and due to reduced capacity, we are currently unable to facilitate our previous arrangements of onsite school group visits.
Please keep an eye on our website here for the most up-to-date information regarding visiting the Museum, or contact the Bookings Office at email@example.com if you have any further queries. The Bookings Office is open from 9am to 5pm Tuesday – Friday.
Museum in the Classroom
While it’s not possible for you to arrange a class visit to the NMI – Archaeology, you can still explore the Museum virtually, as well as engage with the National Collections, through our website. We have launched a new programme of online events, activities and resources for teachers, which are curriculum-linked and designed to complement classroom learning, whilst also being engaging and enjoyable. A variety of themes and topics are explored, for both Primary and Post-Primary students, on the Schools and Teachers page of each Museum site. These resources will be updated throughout the term, so we would advise visiting these webpages regularly.
Please find a link to the Primary level resources at the NMI - Archaeology here and the Post-Primary level resources here
We are also currently developing Virtual Sessions for schools with Museum Educators, which will cover specific curriculum-linked topics, and these will be launched later this year. These sessions will be available at scheduled times, and there will be further information and a Booking form on our website, when these sessions are available to book.
You can also contact the Bookings Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. if you have any further queries about any of the Education Department’s online resources.
