ART WORKSHOP: Decorating Easter eggs

Admission free | Booking required

Easter was an important celebration in the traditional folk calendar as it marked the end of Lent and of fasting.

The build-up of eggs and dairly produce during Lent provided for a welcome breakfast and there were usually enough eggs for children to decorate and use in Easter games.

Join artist Cas McCarthy and members of the Education Team to learn more and explore the traditions around Easter. Have a go at designing and decorating your own egg similar to those used in Easters' past, examples of which are now part of the Irish Folklife Collection.

This is a free family workshop taking place at 11.30am (children under 7) and 2pm (children 7+) on Saturday, 8 April 2023. Places are limited so booking is required. Telephone (094) 90 31751 or book now by email.
