'Trades and Crafts' is one of the permanent exhibitions on display at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life

Visit the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life at Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, for Culture Night on Friday, 17 September.

The main museum galleries will be open late on the night from 6pm until 9pm. Admission, as always, is free.

Some temporary exhibitions to enjoy include A Forgotten Polish Hero of the Great Irish Famine and a pop-up display of Polish folk art. 

Highlights from the permanent collection include Trades and Crafts, Working on Land and Water, and Hearth and Home.

Culture Night is an annual, all-island initiative celebrating the richness and diversity of culture in Ireland today and connecting people to cultural activities. Many different types of spaces and venues - from museums, galleries and theatres to clubs, socieities and cafes, keep their doors open late on the night with free admission and special events.
