Competition Call-out! 

Calling all you D7 designers! At Collins Barracks, we’re celebrating Stoneybatter Festival 2020 with a cool and crafty competition!

Design your own bird helmet inspired by the Samurai Armour – which is on display at the National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Art & History Museum, Collins Barracks. Watch our short film with artist and Museum guide Renata Pekowska, on how to make a helmet in this step-by-step tutorial.

This competition gives you the chance to use your imagination to create your own masterpiece. Send us in photos of your artworks to including your name, age and email address.

Join us at 2.00pm on Saturday 20th June when we’ll announce the winners on our social media platforms. We’ll be awarding the most fabulous creations and there’s five €20 gift vouchers for the Museum gift shop to be won so get designing! The deadline for entries is 5.00pm Friday 19th June 2020. Open to all ages.

Join historian and Museum guide Declan Brady in an online talk on the history of Collins
Barracks, and an introduction to some of the highlights of the Museum. Followed by a Q&A
