Temporary partial closure of Military History galleries at the NMI - Decorative Arts & History

We regret that some of our Military History galleries at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks, Dublin 7, are closed temporarily while repairs are carried out in this part of the building.

We apologise to our visitors in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. 

The affected galleries are located in Soldiers and Chiefs: The Irish at War at Home and Abroad since 1550.

The following galleries within this exhibition are closed until further notice: 

  • 19A (The Irish in the First World War) 
  • 19B (1916: The Easter Rising) 
  • 20A and B (The Irish Wars) 
  • 21A (Claiming the Future) 
  • 21B (The Irish Naval Service) 
  • 22 (The Emergency and WWII)
  • 23 (Defending the Peace)

Other parts of this exhibition remain open to the public.
