The National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks is located at Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin 7.

- Closed Christmas Day, St. Stephen's Day and Good Friday
Free admission
Admission to all four sites of the National Museum of Ireland is free.
Please note that some Museum galleries may occasionally close at short notice. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. While we strive to keep visitors informed, advance notice may not always be possible. If you are planning your visit around a particular artefact or exhibition, we recommend calling ahead (+353 1 677 7444) to confirm its availability on the day.
Online Ticketing
All groups of 8 or more people that wish to visit the Museum must make a booking in advance through the Bookings Office. Self-Guided visits, where groups can browse our collections at their own leisure, can be booked using our Self-Guided Visit Portal a minimum of 7 days in advance.
Primary and Post-Primary Schools, Community Groups and special interest groups are encouraged to contact the Bookings Office at bookings@museum.ie for information on all available tours, workshops and other resources. Booking is not required for families, individuals, and small social units.
Shop Opening Hours
The Museum shop is open during Museum opening times.
Visitor information
Our knowledgeable staff are on hand to assist you with any questions. You will find help and assistance, should you need it, at the reception desk on the ground floor at the main entrance.
Please note that Family, Community and School groups which include visitors under 18 years old must also include at least one supervising adult per 15 individuals aged 18 and under. Young people under 18 years old who arrive at the Museum unsupervised may be refused admission. Visitor parking at Collins Barracks is PAY & DISPLAY:
- €2 for one hour
- €5 for four hours
- €10 full day (8am – 6pm)
- €40 weekly
- There is no overnight parking

Cloakroom
Limited cloakroom services are currently available. Visitors are encouraged not to bring any items larger than a backpack to the Museum.

Accessible toilets are located at the:

- Ground floor of the Soldiers and Chiefs exhibition
Parenting Facilities
Baby changing facilities are available within all toilet facilities throughout the museum.
It is possible to take pushchairs/strollers around the Museum as it is fully accessible with lifts, ramps, and wide doors.
Luggage Storage Restrictions
Limited luggage storage services are currently available. Visitors are encouraged not to bring any items larger than a backpack to the Museum. Large backpacks, bags or suitcases should be left in the cloakroom for your convenience while visiting the Museum. Please ask at the reception desk for assistance when you arrive.
Lifts and Access to the Galleries
All galleries in Collins Barracks are fully accessible. The site has four lifts, located in the main reception area, in the east corner servicing floors one to three of the decorative arts section of the museum. There are two lifts in the Soldiers and Chiefs exhibition.

Seating
There are seating areas available in the majority of galleries. Mobile stools are available upon request. Wheelchairs are also available at the reception desk if required.
