Partisans  

Copper, brass, cupronickel, EPNS (electro plated nickel silver), patina

The ‘Partisans’ are made from metal parts that had previous lives. These parts I have gathered over decades, not just for their lovely shapes but also for their copper based material, and so avoid buying new metal in protest at the mining industry’s destructive impact on the environment.  

The four pieces of Partisans are constructed, soldered and finally patinated to create colourful, playful characters. Some have moving parts, or a squishy one, or a curved base to create a rocking. Their design gives them a purposeful appearance, perhaps defending the environment.
