Eerie
Oxidised silver and 24ct yellow gold keum-bu Vessel
Carved perspex and silver base
Eerie encompasses the tension between precision making and nature’s persistence. The hard geometric shape in concentric cyclinder form and anchored by the square lip at the top of the vessel is met by a flowing band of gold that drifts across its surface like feathered wings seeking rest. This resolves at the top of the vessel in the nest of interwoven gold around the aperture. This juxtaposition of form and texture evokes cycles of emergence and containment. The vessel as both boundary and invitation, a moment of stillness where the organic and the constructed briefly coexist.
Centred 3
Oxidised silver and 24ct yellow gold keum-bu vessel
Silver, perspex, 22ct yellow gold brooch
Perspex and leather stand
Centred 3 unites adornment and containment in a dialogue between precision and gesture. The brooch’s acrylic surface, carved with fine, intersecting lines, echoes the golden striations of the vessel that holds it in an interplay of reflection, fracture, and light. When worn, it is subject to movement and touch; when nested within its silver form, it rests as if in quiet orbit. Through contrasts of hard geometry and organic rhythm, Centred 3 seeks to explore the shifting boundaries between jewellery as a body adornment and as an object.
