Tideline Traces

Utensils: silver, steel, found materials (plastics, driftwood)

These works spring from remnants tumbled and delivered by the sea to the shore. Left as reminders, perhaps, of brief past lives of utility turned into sad detritus choking up the sea. Lifted and reworked they now sit, strange tools which seem to remember hands, remember places. Maybe they still dream of that time of transition, from function to disposal, the long drift in the deep sea, turned over and over again and again, until finally they sit down on sand with only an ache to become something new once more.
