.22 Winchester rifle, Aungier Street, Dublin
Small calibre rifles, such as this 1902 model .22 Winchester rifle, were designed for hunting and sport rather than military action. However, a lack of suitable rifles meant all firearms became very valuable as weapons. This rifle was found after the War of Independence hidden in Whitefriar Street Church on Aungier Street, Dublin.
