Paddy Moran, Thomas Whelan, and Auxiliary, Mountjoy, 1921

Photograph of Paddy Moran and Thomas Whelan taken the night before they were hanged. Between them is the Black and Tan who arranged to effect Moran's escape (by making him exchange places with McGrath who was serving only a light sentence). Moran refused the offer.
