Craft: Rock, Paper, Scissors - Design and Make Mega Mini Tombs

Replica Passage Tomb, on display in the Prehistoric Exhibition, NMI - Archaeology

Make and decorate your own mini mega tomb at home with ReCreate!

In this video, meet Trisha from NMI - Archaeology, who will tell you all about how and why megalithic tombs were built in Neolithic Ireland, and how they were decorated with patterns and shapes. Jo, in the Curious Kitchen at ReCreate, will show you how to make and decorate your very own mini megalithic tomb with things in your own home! Jo will also show you how you can use a torch to light up your megalithic tomb.

For more information on the Stone Age in Ireland, please do visit the Museum and visit the Prehistoric Ireland exhibition to see the replica passage tomb. For more information on megalithic tombs, check out our Megalithic Rock Art activity sheet.

This video will premier on the Museum's YouTube channel at 10am on Saturday 10th June as part of Cruinniú na nÓg.
