Step back in time with Tom Delaney, known locally as 'Ould Crafty', as he demonstrates the age-old art of basket weaving using locally grown willow.

Watch as he transforms natural materials into beautiful, functional baskets using techniques passed down through generations. A rare opportunity to learn about the heritage of rural craftsmanship in Mayo.

'Exploring Our Foundations'

This event is part of the National Heritage Week 2025 programme. This year's theme is 'Exploring Our Foundations' and we invite you to reconnect with the roots of Irish rural life through the living traditions of basket weaving and woodworking. These crafts are not just skills - they are the foundations of community, sustainability, and identity. Join us in bringing those stories to life through hands-on demonstrations.
