Gather at the National Museum at Turlough Park and feel the magic of Christmas come alive with festive tales from storyteller Fiona Dowling.
The wonderful atmosphere of the Museum provides a unique backdrop for a selection of traditional and contemporary Christmas tales from around the world.
These performances will take place over two Sunday afternoons on 7 and 14 December 2025 in the Museum Galleries. This activity is suitable for families with children aged 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Three sessions (with each session lasting approximately 40 minutes) are available at the following times:
Session 1: 1.30pm
Session 2: 2:30pm
Session 3: 3:30pm
This is a free family event. No booking required but please note that spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come basis. Please register for a storytelling session on the day at Museum Reception.
Meet the storyteller
Fiona Dowling is a French-Irish storyteller and visual artist who is currently living in Ballyglass, Co Mayo. As a storyteller, Fiona has been bringing folktales, wisdom tales, myths, riddles and songs to primary schools, hospitals, libraries, pubs and festivals since 2009. As a visual artist, Fiona tells her own story in autobiographical comics and paintings, and creates participatory events building temporary communities around an art form.
