Talk: Exploring Mayo Dark Skies

Free Admission | Booking Required

Did you know Mayo is working towards becoming an International Dark Sky Reserve? Already home to Ireland’s first International Dark Sky Park, the county boasts some of the darkest and most pristine night skies in the world.
Join the Mayo Dark Sky Team to learn more about this incredible natural resource and the efforts underway to preserve it. Discover how the Community Constellations Project is helping raise awareness of dark sky conservation across Mayo, including right here at Turlough Park, where a sky quality monitoring system has been installed to support this vital research.
Whether you're a stargazer, environmentalist, or simply curious, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with the cosmos and the community working to protect it.

Suitable for all ages. Admission is free. Booking is required. Telephone +353 94 9031751 or email bookingscountrylife@museum.ie.
