Immerse yourself in all things green at Collins Barracks this March! We're celebrating Irish songs, stories, and symbols over St. Patrick's Weekend.


Make Your Mark! Family Print-Making Workshop

Sunday, 17th March: 2 - 4pm

Escape the hustle and bustle of St. Patrick's Festival and make some art in a quiet, creation space just off Clarke Square!

Join museum educators in the Learning Resource Room for a drop-in, print-making workshop where you can design and print your own symbol on a greeting card, inspired by symbols in the National Museum of Ireland's collection, including the 'we make our own histories' exhibition.

This workshop is suitable for all ages. Come and go as you please!

Early Years Workshop: Storytelling & Songs with Sarah Sparkles

Monday, 18th March: 3 - 4pm

In this bilingual (English + Gaeilge) workshop for under 5s, Sarah Sparkles and her puppet friends will perform an interactive show for little ones, featuring lots of fun stories, music, and singing. Dancing and movement are encouraged!

This workshop will take place in the Out of Storage gallery on the 1st floor of Collins Barracks. Booking is not required. Suitable for 18 months - 5 years.

Public Tours 

Join us on Not Just Shamrocks to discover the fascinating range of symbols used to represent Ireland through time. This tour will also include a visit to the newly opened We Make Our Own Histories exhibition. 

Booking is not required, however spaces are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

In celebration of Ireland's national day, explore eight remarkable objects that feature the different guises of Éire throughout its history.

Keep an eye out for QR codes throughout the Museum where you can use your smart phone to access the trail. Simply open your camera app, hover over the code, and then click the link!
