Earth Day 2024 - Family Tour and Workshop: Plastic versus the Planet

Free

A junk modelling family workshop at Collins Barracks

In recognition of Earth Day 2024, join us for a special combined Family tour of the galleries followed by a junk modelling workshop.

How did people in the past live in a plastic-free world?
This fascinating tour will address our modern day plastic problem through a historical lens, by exploring food systems as well as how materials were used and waste minimised in times of less abundance than today.

Then, get creative with a junk modelling workshop and make new creations using leftover plastic!

Junk modelling is a form of playful creation that re-uses disposable materials to form new sculptures, functional objects, or anything else the imagination can conjure!

The tour and workshop will begin in Reception at Collins Barracks on Saturday, 20th April.
The session will begin at 2:15pm and end at 3:15pm.

It is suitable for ages 6 and over.

This is a booked event with limited capacity. Booking will be available through Eventbrite.
