Thisp Heritage Week, join Museum educators to explore the fascinating 300-year old history of Collins Barracks and the collections it houses. Collins Barracks, was an army base for almost 300 years before being renovated for use as the National Museum of Ireland.
Hands-on History: From Barracks to Museum is an interactive handling session with objects from the Museum’s handling collection that tell the story of this imposing structure on the banks of the Liffey and the many people who have populated its long life.
This drop-in handling session, which has been organised to celebrate Heritage Week's theme: 'Exploring Our Foundations' will take place in Collins' Barracks Reception from 11.30 to 13.00 on Thursday, 21st August.
