Get to grips with the Museum's handling collection this July at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History at Collins Barracks, Dublin 7.

Come along to these family friendly sessions to take your turn learning about the history of pastimes in Ireland; explore the Irish history of travel and holiday-making; or get a better grasp of the history of the Easter Rising and the revolutionary decade in Irish history.


Hands-on History: Going Out or Staying In

2pm to 4pm, Wednesday, 19 July | All ages

Hands-on History: 1916 in 16 Objects

2pm to 4pm, Wednesday, 26 July | All ages

Get a new grasp of the the Easter Rising through just 16 objects. This interactive handling session with objects from the Museum’s handling collection reflects the history of the Easter Rising and the revolutionary decade in Irish history. FIND OUT MORE


These drop-in sessions take place over two hours. You can join at any time, and stay for as long as you like! Admission to all sessions is free. No booking required.
