Christmas & New Year opening hours

The National Museum of Ireland is open as normal throughout much of the Christmas and New Year period with the exception of:

  • Sunday, 24 December (Christmas Eve) - open 10am to 12noon

  • Monday, 25 December (Christmas Day) - closed

  • Tuesday, 26 December (St Stephen's Day) - closed


Normal opening hours are in place for the rest of the holiday period as follows:

  • Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm

  • Sunday and Monday, 1pm to 5pm


Events and activities

There is a wide range of workshops and activities for all ages taking place throughout December and over the New Year at the National Museum of Ireland. Keep an eye on our events calendar for further details.
