Would you like to join the Board of the National Museum of Ireland?

The National Museum of Ireland is a leader in preserving and promoting Ireland’s heritage across the island and the world.

We welcome over one million visitors annually to our four museums, providing opportunities to be inspired, engaged and informed through inclusive and accessible events and public programmes.
As we approach our 150th year in 2027, would you like to play a role in shaping the future direction of the National Museum of Ireland?

The Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, T.D is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of four Ordinary Board Members of the Board of the National Museum of Ireland.

Full details are available at the link below. The deadline for applications is January 27th 2026.
The National Museum of Ireland is keen to attract a broad range of applicants and warmly supports the Minister’s commitment to encouraging applications from diverse, qualified candidates across all regions of Ireland.

If you bring two or more of the essential skills listed, have a passion for arts, culture, and heritage, and want to help shape positive change in the public service, we strongly encourage you to apply! We are also open to considering applications from those who may be new to board roles, should they possess the appropriate level of experience and skills.
