Ireland's National Folklife Collection at the NMI - Country Life

Journey back in time and marvel at the innovation and endurance of our rural ancestors through the National Folklife Collection at Turlough Park, Castlebar. This tour also explores the history of the Fitzgerald family of Turlough Park, the neo Gothic house they built here, and the gardens and parkland.

Learn more about life from the Stone Age to Early Medieval Ireland and see some of Ireland's most iconic treasures on this free highlight tour of the NMI - Archaeology at Kildare Street, Dublin 2. Highlights include perfectly preserved fish traps from the Mesolithic, gold objects from the Bronze Age, and iconic Early Medieval treasures such as the ‘Tara’ Brooch and the Ardagh Chalice.
