Book a Group Visit


Groups of 8 people or more must book in advance of their visit to avoid disappointment at the door. This includes both self-guided and guided groups.

Specialised guided tours can be booked in advance for community, active retirement and interest groups. Our list of tours include:

  • Highlights Tour – Highlights of Collins Barracks & the Decorative Art & History Collection.
  • Eileen Gray – Introduction to one of Irelands most influential Designers and Architects.
  • Bonnets, Bandoliers and Ballots Papers – Explore how women’s roles changed in the first decade of the 20th century.
  • Proclaiming a Republic: The 1916 Rising – General introduction to the key political, social and cultural events that led up to the Rising, the events of Easter week and its aftermath.
  • Recovered Voices – Focuses on the people involved in World War One and how the War impacted their lives.
  • 1913-1923: Decade of Military Conflict – Introduction to the experiences of ordinary Irishmen and women involved in World War One, the 1916 Rebellion, the War of Independence and the Irish Civil War.

Places are limited to 15 for a guided tour with a minimum of one month's notice required to book. Additional guides can be provided for larger numbers in which case groups will be divided into smaller groups of 15 people per guide. Tours are then stagger ten minutes apart. Each tours takes approx. 45 minutes and there is a charge of €40 per guide (up to 15 people).
