1916 commemoration key

The Garden of Remembrance was opened on Easter Monday, 1966. It is located in Dublin city centre and designed by architect Dáithí Hanley.

The 50th commemoration of the 1916 Rising celebrated the modern Republic and its revolutionary past. Dedicated to all who died in the cause of Irish independence, the Garden of Remembrance was opened by President de Valera with this ceremonial key.
