1727 is carved on to the back of the cross but missing the 1.

F:1941.1046

There is a suspension hole at the top and although most of the decorative symbols are carved on the back of this cross, on the front is carved INRI and three stars. Below the feet of the figure of Christ in relief, is perhaps a carving of a gospel or book shrine.

Provenance: Ardagh, Co. Limerick via the Begley Collection. Said to have been found with the Ardagh Chalice but may have come from nearby.
