Unusually, there is no date carved on the reverse of this cross although IHS and either an X or crossed bones are represented.

F:1952.1

Small cross with a long figure of Christ in relief. Stylised decoration on the front may suggest a ladder and spear but these are represented as carved notches and lines. There is a suspension hole at the top.

Provenance: Derry City. The cross had been in the family of William Cullen, Lecky Road, Derry, for many generations. In 1952, he bequeathed it to the National Museum of Ireland via Liam Brady, Waterloo Street, Derry.
