This lantern was made for the Museum in 1960, and the maker is recorded as Mike Maughan, of the Gort-Headford-Tuam district.

Between the two windows, the space is decorated with two opposite hearts and two diamonds at right angles, created with a series of punch marks. The cap has four horizontal rows of punch marks and one row of sloping slits.
