DEMONSTRATION: Heard it on the Grapevine 'The Harvest'

Free Admission | Booking Required

Grapes on the Vine at Turlough Park | Photo by Martina Burke Lavin

The grapevine at Turlough Park was planted in 1865 by the Fitzgerald family and continues to produce grapes today. This year it will celebrate its 160th year.

Join Andrew Watson, Horticulturalist & Viticulture enthusiast, as he discusses the history of the Turlough Park vine, the Foster's Seedling grapes which it produces and its life cycle.

This is the third in a number of events taking place in 2025. In this workshop participants will assist with harvesting the grapes whilst carrying out a health check of the vine. Participants can take grapes to make their own juice, jam or chutney at home. The final session 'Winter Prune' will take place in December with details to follow.
