Midterm Fun: Spring nature walk and craft activity

Enjoy a fun and educational spring nature walk at 10.30am on Thursday, 19 February. Join a museum educator for this 'Spring Spotting: Family Walk and Craft' event, to explore the grounds in search of early signs that the growing season has begun. Then enjoy a hands-on nature craft activity, to create your own artwork from natural materials.

Join Michael Chambers from Wild Nephin National Park on Saturday, 21 February, for 'They Walked These Hills Before Us' - a special Spring Midterm event exploring the wildlife that once walked our valleys. Celtic Tales by Warrior’s Hand

Visit a colourful exhibition of art celebrating stories, symbols and Celtic myth in the Courtyard Gallery (next to the café). The exhibition has been developed by the Luisne Art Project - a nationally recognised and highly successful arts initiative for people with disabilities, based in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo.

Guided tour of the National Folklife Collection

Join a guided tour of the Museum, House and Gardens, taking place each Saturday at 2pm or 3.30pm. Journey back in time and marvel at the innovation and endurance of our rural ancestors through the Irish Folklife Collection. Then discover more about the life of the Fitzgerald family and the history of Turlough Park House and Gardens.
